Go behind the scenes with REDspace developers.

October 13, 2026

Building digital products sometimes means working with the tools you have. Other times, you run into a problem that calls for something new.

That happens pretty often at REDspace. Our developers encounter unusual technical challenges while building products for the media industry, and sometimes the best solution involves experimenting with a new approach or building a tool themselves. There are some great stories behind that work. We wanted somewhere to share them.

Meet Dev.REDspace.

On Dev.REDspace, our developers get into the technical details behind their work. You’ll hear directly from the people solving problems on real projects and experimenting with ideas that could eventually make their way into the products we build. If you’ve ever wanted to go a few layers deeper into the technology behind our work, this is where you’ll find it.

So, what can you expect? There are already several stories waiting for you:

  • Can you optimize images that have already been optimized? REDspace developer Ali Hashemi built Kusana to find out. When we tested the experimental asset-processing system against requests from a real OTT application, it reduced image data by approximately 61% on older Comcast hardware.
  • How can AI take some of the manual work out of browser performance testing? Our developers built an AI-assisted workflow to handle repetitive parts of the testing process, from navigating through an application to collecting performance data. Developers can then spend more of their time reviewing the results and investigating potential problems.
  • Can you remotely control a TV without relying on infrared? Akshit Bhalla explored that question while working on REDspace’s Device Lab. His solution bypasses infrared transmission and sends commands directly to the television through a wired connection, creating a potentially more reliable way to control large fleets of CTV devices remotely.

These are just a few of the stories already live, with more coming from developers across REDspace.
